Q: What is your favorite thing about working in the fertility industry?
A: When you get that email and picture of a new baby that you helped an intended parent bring into the world. I have more than 100 children around the world. That is amazing.
Q: What is most surprising to you about the work you do?
A: People are so thankful for the assistance you give them. I have never had so many people just say “Thanks.”
Q: What is a memory that sticks with you from your time at BHED?
A: Being invited to the baptism and celebration of the birth of a new baby for a single dad.
Q: What are three pieces of advice you’d give an intended parent just starting their journey with BHED?
A: One: never fall in love with just one donor. Two: you can’t always find a donor that looks just like you. Lastly, you will love that baby the minute it’s born.
Q: What are three pieces of advice you’d give a donor just starting their journey with BHED?
A: You have no idea what a gift you are giving an intended parent. It is one of the most selfless things you can do. Donate for the right reasons.
Q: What are the biggest changes you’ve seen in the fertility space since you started at BHED?
A: Competition, medical advances, and more meetings over Zoom.
Q: Describe a typical work day for you.
A: I start by responding to the overnight emails, which usually consist of requests for donor recommendations, videos, and costs. Then I work on following up with intended parents I haven’t heard from lately, or sharing information on a new donor we may have just activated. Many days are filled with Zoom calls with intended parents wanting information on the donor selection process.
